refreshment & sadness

This is the best time of year. My favorite time of year. It is so fleeting. Living in Chicago, with the bitter cold and dreary winters makes this time even more beautiful.

Today is a sad day though. It will always be sad to me. The past has been on my mind a lot today.

Even in death, there is life. With sadness is joy. Doesn't really help, but...I do need to go out and enjoy this time. Clear my head. I like to spend my short work breaks still at my desk, but enjoying Facebook or email. So tempting to let the day pass by and all i got to enjoy of it was the morning commute.

It makes me crabby. Just a little bit of grass and green things is enough to take the edge off.

I love how warm it is right now, with the leaves not yet on the trees. That is the best.

Building on the upper left is the one formerly known as the Sears Tower.

Of course, it's not as peaceful as it might appear.

My dear friend, I hope wherever you are right now, you are happy. Whenever I see green things shooting up from the earth, I will think of you.
