Moving!

HELLO LOGAN SQUARE!

On Saturday The Boys hopped in their loaded up truck and headed off to their grand adventure in Seattle. I texted them Sunday and they were still on the road.

On Sunday morning (not too early) the landlord called me and said he had new keys for me, and did I want to come over and pick them up? Yes, please!

When I arrived Sunday afternoon, he was putting a new lock on the security gate for me. He had already fixed the closet light in the bedroom (which you can see a sliver of, through the bedroom door on the right) as well as changing the locks for me.

The Boys did a great job cleaning the place. Keegan especially scrubbed that tub. It looks great. I had a bunch of stuff in my car already so I started carrying it in. The landlord was checking the plumbing and the kitchen out to make sure everything worked and there was nothing else to fix. Just a few burned out pulbs in the recessed lighting and he was going to get bulbs when I left..

The raised garden beds that Tom built in the front are covered with snow now so there's nothing growing, but it was so nice to stand right outside my front door, look at the tiny lawn, and dream of spring, while traffic sped by in front (I am on a giant 5-lane street) and pedestrians walked dogs. I walked up the steps of the brownstone and let myself into the foyer with my key so I could check out my new mailbox.

Sunday night I worked on packing while watching the Oscars. I have 2 guys coming Friday to help me take a load of boxes over in our cars, and Saturday I get the rental and the mover I hired will come over, along with family and friends. I don't have a lot to fill this cozy apartment. The living room (above) will probably be turned into a craft room/office. I need a place to spread out and I don't want to see my mess when I walk in the door.

Less than a week left. I am excited.
